When it was still summer my man and I went for a stroll at Christianshavn in the nice weather. Away from the crowd, at the end of one of the canals we discovered a restaurant with a beautiful view to the black diamond. And it was a very nice discovery – actually it is the little sibling to the gourmet restaurant AOC in the city center of Copenhagen. They call it a “Nordic luxury bistro & bar”. They do a la carte and moreover they also offer a menu of the day.
The menu exist of 6 servings to the price of 450 dkk. It was an ordinary weekday and the plan was to grab a quick bite somewhere, but the place just seemed so appealing, that we went for it:-)
Radishes with smoked cheese and Fanø ham. Veal tatare, langustine salad and scallops.North Sea Cod with dill and couliflower and beef tenderloin with onion, thyme and smoked marrow. Beautiful salads with Northern herbs and flowersHazlenut with caramel, malt and chocolate.
My man went for the menu of the day, but since I do not eat red meat I went for some of the other courses and then we shared a little. It seemed like many other tables did that too and that was perfectly okay with the waiters. 6 courses on a regular evening is also quite a lot.
I think restaurant No. 2 is a very good choice If you want a taste of the modern Nordic Kitchen. It is not cheap as chips, but definitely good value for money – especially compared to many other restaurants with a Nordic twist.
