“A cake a day, keeps the doctor away”
We love that quote, simply because we love a tasty piece of cake now and again. That’s why we visit the The Royal Smushi Café whenever we got a good excuse to treat ourselves with some of their delicious cakes. Last time we were there together is a while ago. But since it’s been raining a lot these days, we’re dreaming of their cakes and a warm cup of coffee in the beautiful surroundings.
They serve all the food and hot drinks on the Danish china “Royal Copenhagen”, which we both love (most Danes do). The coffee they serve is from Kafferiet, which is Annes favorite coffee place in Copenhagen (which we will tell you about another time).
The concept of the café is in its nature to serve “smushi” which is a little appetizer inspired by the Danish “smørrebrød” (open sandwich on rye bread with different toppings – very Danish and a very traditional “meal” during Easter and Christmas).
Since the coffee and cakes are so delicious, we still need to stop by to try their smushi.
