In Copenhagen Beau Marché is a local café unknown by many “outsiders” and tourists (it’s a well kept secret by the locals in Copenhagen – and know we’ll tell you why). We love going to Beau Marché whether it’s for lunch, dinner, coffee or afterwork wine! Beau Marché is divided in two: a café and an interior shop that turns into a winebar in the evening. Both places are really nice and there’s always a great atmosphere.
The menu is underwhelming, but everything they serve is delicious – and quite healthy too. You can get croque monsieur, salade chévre chaud, quiches and some other dishes. If you are into specific wine, please note that the winelist is all French. So if you are stopping by for wine and you are more of an Italian-winelover, you might want to go somewhere else.
“Steph’s usual” is the salade chevre chaud.
“Anne’s favorite” is the tuna salade and the croque monsieur. She loves both and has a hard time chosing which one whenever she goes there.
We often go to Beau Marché together or with friends, when we want to catch up in atête-à-tête setting, where the music isn’t too loud and the café isn’t overcrowded. We love it! (The café is really small, so it’s a good idea to book a table in advance if you’re going in the weekend).
